Nashville is known for many things, but the other night you were known to us as a bunch of fun, partying folks! Thanks to all who came out! It was fun bringing some hometown Nastyville Rock N Roll.

What we want is not more books about Christianity, but more books by Christians on other subjects- CS Lewis

When I saw this quote today, I couldn’t help but stop and think how true this is. It hit me hard about songwriting, and what songwriting means as a “Christian”.

What if as broken people, we write broken songs?

What if as hurting people, we write songs songs about pain?

What if as loving people, we write songs about love?

What if as sinful people, we write songs about struggles?

Does it have to be wrote in a way that only says- “God, You are good”, “God, Life is hard but you will pull me out of this valley” for it to be labeled- “Christian”?

Or can we as dirty people, saved by Grace, just simply write songs about life lived, pain, struggles, battles and victories.

What do you think?
